What is a pariah?

A pariah is a person who is rejected or ostracized by society. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including social status, religious or political beliefs, criminal behavior, or lack of conformity to societal norms. Pariahs often face discrimination, harassment, and isolation, and may struggle to find acceptance and belonging. Historically, certain groups of people have been widely considered pariahs, such as the untouchables in India or the lepers of the Middle Ages. However, the concept of social outcasts is not limited to any particular culture or time period.
